Cookie Policy
This Policy explains what cookies are, which ones we use at piclink and how you can manage them. It is part of our Privacy Notice.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device. Together with similar technologies (local storage, pixels and service workers), they allow the site to work, remember your preferences and understand how it is used.
2. Cookies we use
Essential
Necessary for the Service to work. They cannot be disabled without affecting basic features. They include:
- Session and authentication: keep your session logged in and protect your account.
- Gallery unlocking: remember that you entered the correct password for a protected gallery so we don't ask you again.
- Preferences: remember settings such as theme or language.
Analytics and performance
They help us understand how galleries and the site are used (for example, views) to improve the Service. On our marketing site, the public piclink HUB directory and public profiles we use Microsoft Clarity (heatmaps and anonymous session recording, with personal data masked) and PostHog (usage metrics). These tools are never loaded inside the galleries you deliver to your clients, nor on sites served under a custom domain. PostHog runs cookieless; Clarity may set its own first-party cookies to measure performance.
So that the directory's numbers reflect people looking for a professional
rather than people who already use piclink, we store a first-party marker (pl_u) that only records whether you have an open session. It holds no name,
email or any other detail about you, and it is removed when you log out.
Advertising and measurement
We use the Meta pixel (Facebook/Instagram) and its conversions API to measure the performance of our campaigns and show more relevant advertising. These technologies may set third-party cookies.
3. Third-party cookies
Some providers that render services to us may set their own cookies, including payment processors, authentication providers and advertising platforms. The processing carried out by such third parties is governed by their own policies.
4. How to manage cookies
You can configure your browser to block or delete cookies. Note that disabling essential cookies may prevent you from logging in or accessing protected galleries. For interest-based advertising, you can also adjust your preferences directly in the settings of the relevant platforms (for example, Meta).

We may update this Policy to reflect changes in the technologies we use or in applicable regulations. We will publish the current version on this page with its update date.
