Pixieset Alternatives: An Honest Comparison
Pixieset, Pic-Time, ShootProof, CloudSpot and piclink compared on price, storage, free plans and gallery languages, with data from their own pages and dates.

The best Pixieset alternative depends on why you’re looking. If it’s price and storage, Pic-Time and ShootProof give you 20 GB on their first paid plan for less than Pixieset’s $10 a month. If it’s video, Pic-Time stores it separately. If your clients speak Spanish or Portuguese, compare how each platform handles the gallery language. And if you sell prints from the gallery, staying on Pixieset may be the right call. Here are five platforms compared with data taken from their own pages on October 3, 2026.
What Pixieset costs today
Start with the baseline. These are the client gallery plans Pixieset publishes, in US dollars:
| Plan | Month to month | Billed annually | Photo storage | What it adds |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | 3 GB | Unlimited galleries; 15% commission on store sales |
| Basic | $10 | $8 a month | 10 GB | Your branding, custom domain and full-resolution downloads |
| Plus | $20 | $16 a month | 100 GB | More emails to your clients |
| Pro | $30 | $24 a month | 1,000 GB | RAW uploads and sharing several galleries at once |
| Ultimate | $50 | $40 a month | Unlimited | No cap on photo storage |
The free plan is fine for getting to know the tool. For client work, full-resolution downloads and your own branding start on the Basic plan.
Pixieset alternatives, compared
The table uses each platform’s first paid plan at its month-to-month price. Every figure comes from the platform’s official pages.
| Platform | First paid plan | Storage | Free plan | Gallery languages |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pixieset | Basic, $10 a month | 10 GB | 3 GB | 8, set per gallery |
| Pic-Time | Beginner, $8 a month | 20 GB | 10 GB, reduced to 3 GB after three months | Set per gallery |
| ShootProof | Starter, $9.99 a month | 20 GB, photo and video | 3 GB, photos only | 13, set per gallery |
| CloudSpot | Entry, listed at $7 a month | 15 GB, up to 15 galleries | 5 GB, up to 3 galleries | Not stated on its pricing page |
| piclink | Semi-pro, $10 a month | 50 GB | 5 GB, with limits on photos and time online | Set per gallery, or automatic by browser |
Three things the table doesn’t tell you:
- Annual billing changes the order. Billed annually, Pixieset Basic drops to $8 a month, Pic-Time Beginner to $7 and ShootProof Starter to $8.33.
- Promotions come and go. On the day of this check, CloudSpot was advertising every paid plan at $3 a month for the first three months. Compare regular prices, because that’s what you’ll pay in month four.
- Free plans have fine print. Pixieset’s takes a 15% commission on store sales, CloudSpot’s caps downloads at 2048 px and accepts only JPEG, and piclink’s galleries carry piclink branding on the free plan.
If your clients speak Spanish or Portuguese
For many photographers in the United States this is the detail that decides it: the family that hires you speaks English with you, and the grandparents who open the gallery don’t.
- Pixieset displays each gallery in one of eight languages: English, Spanish, French, German, Dutch, Simplified Chinese, Brazilian Portuguese and Swedish. You pick it in the collection, under Settings, General, Language, and it applies to navigation, the store, downloads, favorites and notifications.
- ShootProof supports 13 gallery languages, Spanish and Portuguese among them, chosen per gallery in its settings.
- Pic-Time lets you set a language per gallery and a default for new ones. Its help center adds that the photographer dashboard can be switched too, translated with Google Translate.
- piclink lets you fix a language per gallery or leave it on automatic. On automatic, the gallery shows in Spanish, English or Portuguese to match each visitor’s browser, and visitors can switch from the gallery itself.
The difference is who decides. With a per-gallery setting you choose one language for everyone who opens the link. With automatic detection, each person in the family sees the same gallery in their own language.
What to test before you pay for any of them
They all have a free plan or a trial. Before you take out your card, upload a real session and check this:
Checklist
- Open the gallery on a phone, on mobile data and off wifi: it should load fast.
- Ask someone who doesn’t know the tool to download one photo without your help.
- Mark favorites the way your clients would, and look at how the selection reaches you.
- Read the automatic emails: they should be in the language of the person receiving them.
- Confirm that full-resolution downloads are in the plan you’re going to pay for.
- Find out what the next plan costs for when you run out of storage.
Which one fits whom
Pixieset. If you sell prints from the gallery: its store is built in, takes payment online and sends the order to the lab without you stepping in. Also if you need a lot of storage: 1,000 GB for $30 a month is hard to match.
Pic-Time. If you deliver video along with photos, because its plans include separate video storage, or if you want twice Pixieset’s storage on the entry plan for a couple of dollars less.
ShootProof. If you work with clients from many countries, since it offers the most gallery languages of the five, with 13. Its paid plans also include contracts and invoices.
CloudSpot. If you’re starting out and want a free plan with 5 GB and up to three galleries, and you’re fine with JPEG-only uploads until you upgrade.
piclink. If you want the most storage on the first paid plan, 50 GB for $10 a month, and galleries that switch language on their own for Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking clients. It includes quotes, a booking calendar and a portfolio page in the same account. What it doesn’t have yet is a built-in print store: if print sales are central to your business, Pixieset serves you better today.
How to switch without moving everything
You don’t need to migrate your whole archive in a weekend.
- Start with the next session. Deliver it on the new platform and leave the old galleries where they are.
- Notify only the people with something pending. If someone still hasn’t downloaded their photos, give them a date before you close the previous account.
- Keep your originals. No gallery platform replaces your backup. The guide on how to deliver photos to clients covers the three-copy rule.
- Run your numbers. If you’re switching because of cost, do the full math for your business with the guide on how much to charge for a photoshoot.
The best comparison isn’t in a table. Deliver one real gallery and watch two things: how quickly your clients open it, and how many questions they send you afterward.
